Instructions
SETUP: Enable Blackbox logging at 1/2 rate and make sure DShot / RPM filtering is set up before tuning.
FIRST FLIGHT: Fly a gentle 1-2 minute baseline. Use CHIRP only if the quad feels stable and controlled.
LOAD LOG: Connect, activate mass storage, load the Blackbox log, then click ANALYZE LOG.
Start with stock Betaflight PIDs and filters, ideally Betaflight 12.x. Hover, ramp slowly to full throttle, then make deliberate roll, pitch and yaw inputs. No flicks. 1 to 2 minutes is all you need. Land, check motor temps, disarm.
Before logging for AeroTune, open Betaflight Configurator -> Motors tab. Set motor protocol to DSHOT300, enable Bidirectional DShot / RPM filtering, enable ESC telemetry if your ESC supports it, save/reboot, then fly a fresh clean log.
Hit CONNECT then ACTIVATE MASS STORAGE to pull your log. Drop it in. AeroTune7 reads your noise floor and generates filter recommendations. Once your log is dropped the button switches to EJECT AND RECONNECT - hit it and the FC reboots and reappears as a COM port automatically. Hit CONNECT, then WRITE FILTERS and it writes them directly to your FC. AeroTune7 will tell you when your filters are clean and you are ready to move on.
Your snapshot will tell you to move the D Gains slider to a value, for example "move D Gains slider up to 1.2 and fly again." Make sure your slider matches the value shown on the WRITE TUNE button before you fly. Same flight style - deliberate inputs, 1 to 2 minutes. Land, disarm, hit ACTIVATE MASS STORAGE and drop your log. Hit EJECT AND RECONNECT - FC reboots and reappears as a COM port. Hit CONNECT, then WRITE TUNE to push the next slider value directly to your FC. The engine compares every flight against the last one and tells you exactly what changed and what to do next. Multiple passes are completely normal, that is the process.
Your snapshot will tell you to move the Master slider to a value. Make sure your slider matches the value shown on the WRITE TUNE button before you fly. Same process. The engine is now refining across multiple passes and tracking whether each flight is converging or drifting. It will tell you when the tune is complete.
Use RESET SESSION any time you start a fresh build or new drone.
