AeroRing Build Notes

Material Selection

Recommended: PLA+ for ease of printing.
Best Choice: PC Tough from Polymaker (if your printer supports PC) for insane strength.
Print Settings
Walls: 5 for durability.
Bottom Layers: 17 for strength.
Print Speed: Max 80mm/s for precision.
Target Weight: 50g or less.
Adhesion Tips
Brim (Optional): Helps secure the ring to the bed.
Bed Contact: Ensure the ringโ€™s bottom layer is fully touching the bed.
**Initial Layer Height: Set to 0.4mm to guarantee proper adhesion.
Double-check in the slicer that the bottom layer of the ring is printing correctly.

Supports

Ring: No supports needed.
Canopy: No supports needed except possibly for the camera mount area (use “trees – auto touching build plate” if necessary).
Key Flight & Setup Notes
✅ Set Motor Output to PLUS in Betaflight.
✅ Check if the Flight Controller needs to be rotated 45ยฐ and adjust in Configuration Tab.
✅ First Flight Tip: Take off from grass to prevent damage from crashes or unwanted flyaways (be ready to shut it OFF).
✅ Speedybee FC Recommended: Bluetooth makes tuning easier. If using a different FC, stick commands in Betaflight can be used for PID adjustments.

Build Steps

1️⃣ Attach Velcro strap to secure the battery (do NOT skip this step).
2️⃣ Wire in the motors โ€“ Check that motors spin freely before proceeding.
3️⃣ Route motor wires carefully โ€“ Keep them clear of the twist part of the canopy. Itโ€™s a tight fit, but with patience, it’s simple.
4️⃣ Battery wires: Leave longer and feed them through the designated hole.
5️⃣ Solder motor wires to ESC โ€“ Watch the soldering iron! Excess heat can melt plastic.
6️⃣ Attach ESC/FC screws โ€“ Line them up one by one for precise assembly.
7️⃣ Install the Flight Controller (FC) but donโ€™t screw it down yet.
8️⃣ Plug into the computer and either load my PIDs or set up your own.
