3D-Printed FPV Drone Frames: An AeroRing Build Guide

Build an FPV drone around a frame you can print yourself. AeroRing STL downloads bring the ring-frame design to your own workbench, with 3-, 4- and 5-inch options in the shop.

Start with the frame and the hardware

The STL is the printable geometry, not a complete aircraft. Before choosing a file, check the product description for the frame configuration and the motors, camera and electronics it is intended to accommodate. Choose the canopy variant that matches your camera setup.

AeroRing uses a continuous ring around the motor layout. The 5-inch product includes Plus and X configurations, so make your selection on the product page rather than assuming every download has the same layout.

Plan your print before assembly

Open the STL in your slicer and check the full footprint against your printer’s build area. Choose a material your printer can handle and inspect the first-layer preview before printing. Frame material, print quality and assembly all contribute to the finished build.

The AeroRing build notes cover materials, walls, bed contact, support considerations and assembly. Use those notes alongside the instructions for your selected frame. Inspect the finished print and mounting points before fitting electronics.

From printed frame to a tuned quad

Printing is the first stage. Fit the hardware, confirm the correct flight-controller orientation and motor layout for your build, and complete the setup checks before flight. Once you have suitable flight logs, AeroTune provides a way to review Betaflight Blackbox data and work through tuning.
